The Federation of Indian Export Organisations, popularly known as FIEO is the apex body of all export promotion organizations in India. Set up by the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India in 1965, FIEO has been serving as a platform for promoting India’s trade with the World and also has been serving as a platform of interaction between exporters and policy makers. Thus, FIEO represents the Indian export promotion effort in its entirety.
FIEO has 17 offices located at various cities/town across India including New Delhi, Ludhiana, Amritsar, Kanpur, Jaipur, Kolkata, Bhubaneswar, Ranchi, Guwahati, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kochi, Coimbatore, Kanpur, Jaipur, Mumbai, Indore and Ahmadabad. FIEO today has a membership base of well over 30,000 members from all over the country, representing a wide cross section of products and services.
The Federation ensures that the exporting community get all the information and are involved in its activities both at the national and international level. FIEO organizes over 50 exhibitions throughout the year. Exchanges business delegations, establishes MoUs with counterpart organizations overseas and arranges exhibitions & catalogue shows abroad. Facilities redressal of exporters’ problems by taking them up with the concerned authorities. The Federation’s website acts as a platform for the exporters to sort out issues and challenges related to trade & commerce and provides clarification on various policy parameters etc.
FIEO News - the monthly news magazine published by the Federation has worldwide readership amongst exporters & importers, chambers of commerce, commercial and economic agencies and policy makers in India, foreign missions in India and Indian missions abroad etc. It also publishes its weekly e-bulletin – INTRADE Update, highlighting weekly developments on various areas of India’s international trade.
Besides one can also find updated, searchable directory of exporters on FIEO website. It keeps members posted with the latest development in the international trade sector through continuous e-mailers and also through the Members Area of FIEO website. It closely liaisons with government and other trade bodies and help the policy makers to understand the issues faced by the exporting community and regularly provides necessary inputs, suggestions and recommendations to the government.
India Trade Portal, a one-stop information platform, developed and maintained by FIEO on behalf the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India for exporters-importers, providing key information about the MFN tariff/Preferential tariff of 87 countries, rules of origin to avail preferential tariff, SPS & TBT mapped at tariff line of 87 countries and India’s share in their imports, item-wise export and import policy of the Government of India, duty drawback, MEIS, Interest equalization rates, GST and other levies are all available. First of its kind and unique application, “Niryat Mitra – Mobile App” promoting India’s international trade has also been launched by FIEO. Available both on Android and on IOS, the App provides wide range of information required to undertake international trade right from the policy provisions for export and import, applicable GST rate, available export incentives, tariff/preferential tariff, market access requirements – SPS/TBT measures etc.
